TOM FOR ENGLAND

Mossley exciting young wing back Tom Ingham has become the second Mossley player in successive seasons to be selected
for the final 18 player England Schoolboys squad.

Having already been chosen in the initial 30 man squad, Tom successfully attended the final trial at Lilleshall last weekend and will now go forward to represent England at under 18 schoolboy
level.

He follows in the footsteps of striker Fabio Abreu who played several games for the National side last season before going on to sign for Portuguese Primera side Maratimo.

After playing as a junior at Manchester United and Bolton Wanderers Tom first came to Mossley’s attention when he played (and scored) in a pre season trial match against Mossley’s Youth team for an Agents Select side.

After the game Youth team manager Rob Byrne enquired about Tom and was delighted when he chose to sign for Mossley.

He began the season playing in the Youth team but first team manager Gareth McClelland saw enough in the youngster to throw him in the deep end and he made his full first team debut in the 2-2 draw at AFC Fylde in only the third match of season.

Tom, who turned 18 in November, has so far made 18 starts plus 3 substitute appearances for the 1st team and has scored 2 goals. The most recent of which was an absolute cracker against Wakefield
two weeks ago.
