Mossley manager Steve Halford has signed right sided defender Chris Brown in time to face Salford City on Saturday.

Brown (age 20) made his first team debut for Rochdale on 1 September 2009 in their 2–1 home defeat to Bradford City in the Football League Trophy.

In August 2010, 6' 5" Stockport born Brown was loaned to Ashton United, before being loaned out again to Hyde and Droylsden before the end of the 2010/11 season. He signed for Droylsden in June 2011 and left the club by mutiual consent at the end of September 2012.

Brown goes straight into the Mossley squad due to the absence of the injured Halford and Keil O'Brien, while skipper Dave Young serves the second of a two match ban. Ben Richardson is still on the injury list but midfielder Ash Young has now completed his three match ban and returns to the side.
