NEW BOYS TO FACE FC UNITED 04 / 08 / 12

Mossley player manager Steve Halford's crop of new signings will line up against FC United of Manchester at Seel Park on Tuesday (7th August) kick off 7.45pm, in a prestigious pre season friendly and Mossley's final competitive game before the season begins in earnest on Saturday 18th August.

Boss Halford has drafted in new blood for the new season in strikers Gavin Salmon, Sam Hind and Sam Madeley, midfielders Ashley Young, Jay Gorton and Gary Gee while the highly rated Chris Rowney looks set to return after a year with Woodley Sports.

Of last season's squad - goalkeeper Martin Pearson, skipper Dave Young, prized young centre back Keil O'Brien, lively wing back Cavell Coo, wide midfielders Ben Richardson and Mark Haslam, along with the tricky and versatile Kayde Coppin and livewire striker Nathan Taylor have all returned for the new season after finishing last term strongly.

The return of Cavell Coo to the fold is a real bonus to Halford's squad for the coming campaign as until last week he looked likely to join promoted Witton Albion but to Halord's delight chose Mossley ahead of the Cheshire club.

The only major departures of the summer are two players who have joined club's higher up the footballing pyramid - big centre forward Tom Denton has joined Blue Square Conference Premier side Alfreton Town while midfielder Lee Rick has joined Blue Square North big guns Droylsden.

Mossley's season begins with a home game against Bamber Bridge on Saturday 18th August with a 3pm kick off.
