NEW BOYS IN THE CUP SQUAD

Mossley bosses Peter Band and Lloyd Morrison have made four additions to the Lilywhites squad in the last week.

Making his debut in the local ‘derby’ against Curzon Ashton on Monday was left back Tom Walker who has signed after a brief spell with Northwich Victoria.

Walker is a versatile player who can play at left back or left wing. His early career included spells with Skelmersdale United and Caernarfon Town before he joined Chorley in 2009 and went on to make over 100 appearances for the Magpies being voted Player of the Year for 2010/11 but then suffered a serious injury the following season.

Also arriving at Seel Park is lively young striker Tom Pratt, who has signed on an initial one month loan deal from Bury. Pratt came through the ranks at Bury FC, scoring prolifically as a junior and youth.

He graduated to the Bury first team squad in 2012 making 2 first team appearances in the 2012/13 season whilst also having a loan spell with Harrogate Town.

Defenders Louis Horne and Sam Holt joined the squad on Thursday. Central defender or left back Louis Horne began his career as a junior with Bradford City eventually graduating to the first team squad. He then had spells with Hinckley United, Vauxhall Motors, Buxton, Goole and FC United of Manchester. He then helped Scarborough Athletic to gain promotion to the Evo-stik League last season before joining Mossley.

Sam Holt is a central defender who began his career with Halifax Town's Centre of excellence and eventually captained their youth team. He then signed for Stalybridge Celtic and was captain of their reserve team. A spell with Garforth Town followed before signing for Mossley.

Meanwhile, striker Andy Hurst who joined the Lilywhites in pre season from Winsford United has returned to the Barton Stadium club, now managed by former Mossley assistant boss Eddie Haslam. Hurst’s only Mossley appearance being in the opening day defeat by Kendal Town.
