ALL SET FOR NEW SEASON
. . . AS 'THE MINTCAKES' COME TO TOWN

Mossley's new management team Lloyd Morrison & Peter Band

With a new management team in place, a new look squad and a very promising pre season campaign behind them, Mossley are now ready for the coming Evo-stik League season.

Peter Band and Lloyd Morrison become Mossley's first ever joint managers following the sudden departure of Steve Halford to Ashton United in July.

Band and Morrison have assembled a squad capable of challenging for honours and if pre season is anything to go by, the squad looks much stronger than at the same time last term.

Familiar names from last season are;- goalkeeper Russ Saunders, who has been appointed club captain, last season’s top scorer Sam Madeley along with Mark Haslam, Lewis Nightingale, Ryan Hopper, Danny Broadbent, Tyron Sealey and Sam Hind who have all chosen to return to the Club, though Hind is currently recovering from injury. New signings are aplenty with many of the new boys following Morrison from his former club Winsford United.

The new players have settled in well and integrated with the existing lads easily, creating a good team spirit and some excellent dressing room banter.

The Lilywhites begin their campaign with a tricky looking fixture at home to Kendal Town on Saturday (3 pm). Managed by ex Workington boss Steve Edmondson, Kendal have assembled an attack minded side which includes hot shot forwards Jordan Connerton and Danny Mitchley and they are ably supported from midfield by skipper Danny Coid who previously played nearly 300 first team games for Blackpool.

Mossley's following two games see them visit Yorkshire to Wakefield at the Wakefield Wildcats RL Stadium on Tuesday evening (7.45pm) and then visit the much strengthened Ossett Town next Saturday, 24th August (3 pm) before returning again to Seel Park on Bank Holiday Monday, 26th August (3 pm) when neighbours and rivals Curzon Ashton are the visitors.
