It is with sadness that we record the passing of one time Mossley forward Don Phillips.

Inside forward Don was signed by then Mossley player-manager, the late Don Wilson in August 1964, and went on to make 106 Mossley appearances scoring 33 goals in four seasons with the club.

He was the Lilywhites top scorer in the 1966/67 season with 22 goals and later became a player and then manager of Glossop in the 1970's.

Following the introduction of substitutes for the first time in the 1966/67 season Don became Mossley first ever number 12 on the opening day of the season away at Bangor City.
