YEO & KILBANE BOOST COACHING STAFF

Simon Yeo

MOSSLEY management duo Peter Band and Lloyd Morrison have improved their promotion ambitions ahead of the new season with the addition of two 'specialist coaches'.

The duo have brought in Simon Yeo as a 'Striker Coach' and Farrell Kilbane as 'Fitness Coach' ahead of Saturday's first pre season game when the Lilywhites host Curzon Ashton at Seel Park with a 3 pm kick off.

Stockport-based Yeo (42) had an illustrious career in both League non-league football. A former soldier in the 22nd (Cheshire) Regiment, Yeo scored 111 goals in 169 appearances for Hyde United between 1998 and 2002 before taking on cult hero status with Lincoln City in the Football League thanks to four prolific years at Sincil Bank and later appearead for Peterborough United, Chester City and Macclesfield Town.

“We’re grateful to Simon for getting involved at Mossley,” said Band.
“We felt we needed to bolster the coaching set-up a bit, and with Simon now here myself and Lloyd are confident that the forward players can only benefit from his experience and know-how.

“He was a great striker and if he can give our lads just that extra 10 or 20-per-cent, then that can make such a difference.

“Our division is going to be really open again this season, so any improvement on last year could see us challenging.“That’s the idea anyway.”

Kilbane (41) is the older brother of ex-Republic of Ireland player and now TV pundit Kevin. He was a young player at home-town club Preston before making over 200 appearances for Stafford Rangers, he then had spellls with Lancaster City, Southport, Burscough, AFC Fylde, Fleetwood Town and Trafford.

On the playing staff front the only major departure from the squad has been Godwin Abadaki, who has rejoined his former boss Jim Gannon at Stockport County. Fringe players Liam Baker (Winsford United) and George Mannion (Colwyn Bay) have also moved on.

A few new signings are in the pipeline and more will be revealed as pre season unfolds.
