KATH FIELD R.I.P.

It is with great sadness that we record the passing of Mossley AFC’s longest serving
supporter Kathleen Field.

Lifelong Mossley fan Kath (86) first went to a game with her grandmother when she was just seven years old.

An outstanding volunteer, an outstanding supporter and an outstanding person. All those years of passionate support for the Lilywhites was deservedly rewarded in 2014 when she won the Evo-stik League ‘Supporter of the Year’ and she was presented with the award by at the League’s Annual Dinner event by Joe Royle, former player and manager for Kath’s other great footballing love—Manchester City.

Despite failing health Kath was a regular supporter both at Seel Park and at away matches until very recently along with her daughter Elaine and rarely missed a game.

Kath’s late husband Brian was also a long-term volunteer at Seel Park and a club committee member while Kath herself spent many hours painting around the ground and doing other vital jobs, from washing kit to working in the pie hut.

Our thoughts and sympathies are with Kath’s family and friends at this sad time.
