KEENAN RETURNS

Versatile midfield / defender Keenan Quansah has re-signed for Mossley following a short spell with Hyde United.

He was originally signed from the then Evo-stik League club Burscough in January 2017 after impressing for the eventually relegated club in a game at Seel Park a month earlier despite being on the losing side.

6’ 3” Keenan made his Lilywhites debut as a second half substitute, replacing Matty Burke, in a 1-2 defeat at Colne on 4th February 2017 and then quickly established himself in the Mossley team playing in a variety of defensive and midfield positions.

He went on to make 64 appearances for the Lilywhites and last season won the Mossleyweb Player of the Year award before signing for Hyde United in the Evo-stik League Premier Division in the summer making 6 appearances for the Tigers this season.

Things didn’t quite work out for Keenan at Hyde and Mossley joint bosses Dave Wild and Terry Hincks are delighted to re-sign the 21 year old despite him receiving offers from other rival clubs.

Having spent time with Liverpool, Crewe, Bolton and Macclesfield after being scouted for Warrington Schoolboys Keenan was snapped up by Accrington Stanley in 2014 earning a 12 month pro contract a year later.

He made the Accrington first team subs bench on 4 occasions in the 2015/16 season without getting on the pitch and was released at the end of the season from where he joined Burscough in October 2016.
