Mossley manager Dave Wild's hopes that signing quality players would attract other quality players has been validated by the arrival of Astley Mulholland and Nicky Platt.

Astley (age 31) arrives from Colwyn Bay while Nicky (also 31) signs from Hyde United. Both players have loads of experience at Evo-stik League level and above.

Wide attacking player Astley has also played for Altrincham, Trafford, FC United of Manchester, Ashton United, Chorley, Hyde United, Glossop North End and Barrow, having begun his career in Leeds United's academy as a youngster.

Accomplished central midfielder Nicky, also age 31, began his playing days as a striker with Burnley before starring in midfield for FC United of Manchester, Mandurah City (Australia), Witton Albion, Stockport County, Salford City, Nantwich Town and Ashton United.
