Paul Phillips has departed from Mossley just a month after being appointed as Dave Wild's assistant to take the manager's job at NPL Premier Division side Matlock Town.

Phillips (age 41) also has previous managerial experience with Ashton United, Stalybridge Celtic and Glossop North End where he was joint manager with one time Mossley manager Steve Halford.

As a player Phillips was notable for his long and impressive goalkeeping career with Droylsden and he also played for Staybridge Celtic and Ashton United.
