Previously with Burnley and Bury as a junior, Scottish club Falkirk, Erie Admirals in the USA and Hyde FC. He made 40 Mossley appearances and scored 2 goals before departing for Nantwich Town in the closed season of 2013.

Born on 25th February 1986 in Chatham, Kent. David Young was a defender signed from neighbours Curzon Ashton in February 2012. Previously captain of Glossop North End. He is the son of former Glossop manager Steve Young and led Glossop as captain when they reached the FA Vase Final at Wembley in 2009. He joined Curzon in November 2010 after a spell with Ashton United. He made a total of 55 Mossley appearances scoring 5 goals before retiring at the end of the 2012/13 season and joining the coaching staff at his former club Glossop North End.
