Danny Meadowcroft progressed throughh the junior ranks at Stockport County and was allowed to join Mossley on loan in January 2005.

He then returned to County on a 1 year contract but returned to Mossley for a further loan spell in October 2004 and soon requested his own release from Stockport to stay at Mossley.

Nick-named 'Stretch' due to his obvious height advantage, the young defender had an excellent first full season with Mossley and was appointed club captain in the 2005/06 season that saw him lift the UnIBond League Division One Championship Trophy at the end of the season.
