Talented midfield player Martin Allison was snapped up from neighbours Ashton United early in the new year 2006. He was a key player in Ashton’s successful fight against relegation in 2004/05 season and was a regular in their side over the previous two and a half seasons.
He began his career in the West Riding League with his local club Golcar United before signing for the Hurst Cross side. The 26 year old made 97 appearances for Ashton who he joined in September 2003.
Made a central midfield role his own at Mossley in the second half of the 2005/06 title winning season with some impressive performances. However, he was surprsingly released by Jason Beckford in October 2006 and joined Ossett Albion. Re-signed for Mossley in July 2007.
