Signed initially on loan from Ashton United. Arrived at Ashton as a midfield player but was pressed into a more forward role due to the absence of Jamie Miller, he responded by becoming Ashton’s top scorer for the last two seasons. Paul also played for both Marple Athletic and Cheadle Town before joining Ashton from Flixton in August 2001. Paul made 17 appearances scoring 3 goals before moving on to first Curzon Ashton and latterly New Mills before returning to Seel Park.
