It took Mossley until the last minute of this Galaxy Football Lancashire League game to beat Workington at a windswept Seel Park tonight but it was inevitably a win that was fully merited against the second string of the Blue Square North club.

Mossley dominated the game with Raducio King giving another assured performance on the left of midfield, while lanky  front man Matt Nee was a constant threat to the Reds back-line.

Mossley opened the scoring in the 16th minute when King's delicate through ball played in Matt Nee who finished coolly from 10 yards.

Moments later Nee was unlucky to see a fine effort from 20 yards tipped onto the bar by Workington keeper Lee Jolly.

Workington scored an equalsier out of the blue just before the half hour mark when Ryan Veitch fired past Jonny McIlwaine from 25 yards.

Matt Nee restored Mossley's lead with a deserved second, an excellent chip shot from the edge of the box in the 33rd minute.

Workington, who had barely threatened found themselves level again three minutes after the break when Ben Jackson's scuffed shot from the edge of the box somehow bobbled past McIlwaine into the bottom corner.

Both sides huffed and puffed through the remainder of the game and a stalemate looked an almost certainty as the game crept into overtime. However, Raducio King had other ideas as he strode down the left wing leaving defenders in his wake with 90 minutes on the clock. Reaching the deadball line he crossed low to the far post and Mike Brickhill delightedly swept the ball home from eight yards to give Mossley a late though fully deserved winner.
