Mossley Reserves came up against an extremely strong Fleetwood Town second string at Seel Park on Thursday night but can hold thir heads high despite a 3-0 reverse.

The visitors included experienced first team full time players Danny Hurst, Nathan Pond, Jamie Milligan, Junior Brown along with the outstanding ex Kendal Town playmaker Danny Rowe in their starting line up while the Lilywhites included first teamers Aaron Chalmers, Steve Settle and Danny Egan in thier first eleven.

Mossley played a 4-5-1 formation with Danny Egan playing as the sole striker. Egan found chances few and far between but did work Town keepoer Hurst on a couple of occasions, though he was also thwarted by some 'dodgy' off-side decisions given against him.

The football was fast and free flowing but it was Fleetwood who took the lead in the 12th minute when Grant Deil cut inside his marker to slot past the stranded Nick Ashley.

Fleetwood doubled their advantage on the half hour with an excellent solo effort by Jamie Milligan leaving Mossley with something of a mountain to climb.

Mossley lost Egan and central defender Phil Cooper to injury at the break with Nathan Tosum replacing Egan and Ryan Barrow coming on for Cooper and it was Tosum who had Mossley's best chance after the break but his header flew over the bar when well placed.

The game ebbed and flowed with Mossley giving as good as they got but it was Fleetwood who completed the scoring in the dying momnents with a stunning solo goal by Danny Rowe. Receiving the ball ten yards outside the Mossley box, he ghosted past three defenders before his delightful chipped shot gave Ashley no chance.
