Mossley started this Lancashire League game with six changes from the game against Bamber Bridge. From the start Mossley took control, retaining possession and restricting Lancaster, allowing them to keep possession across their back four.

Ionut Cuciorva and the returning Osebi Abadaki were causing the home defence numerous problems down both flanks with Sam Freakes linking well in midfield.

Although Lancaster's only real effort came via a mistake from Mossley's back four that saw Keeper Jack Darnbrough save smartly at the feet of Ben Cameron, Mossley were unable to make their dominance tell and lacked any real penetration or creatively in the last third of the pitch and although, Cuciorva, Abadaki, Freakes and Josh Higgins all had chances, none really troubled Ryan Kirkham in the Lancaster goal, with the half ending at stalemate.

The second half started with Lancaster upping the tempo but it was Mossley who had the best chance of the game so far to open the scoring. Higgins dispossed Callum Hoctor at the edge of the penalty area down Mossleys right flank and squared the ball to Jay Walcott who's first time shot brought a great save from Kirkham, the rebound dropped to Cuciorva who should have scored with the keeper stranded but somehow managed to fire his shot straight at a Lancaster defender on the goal line.

From this point Mossley proceeded to concede ground and possession and on 55 mins Rhys Turner chased a ball destined for a goal kick near to the corner flag, with Callum Harkin and Cuciorva both engaging him he somehow managed to weave his way through into the penalty area and dispatch a shot passed Darnbrough at his near post.

From the restart Mossley were all over the place in midfield, failing to pick up their men and exposing the back four and on 63 mins they were punished again. Clever interplay in midfield drew defenders out of position and from the resulting through ball Mossley Youth Team player Joe Bunney fired a shot at goal that was well saved by Darnbrough only to see James Dixon tap in the rebound at the far post.

The third came on 70 mins when again Mossley's midfield failed to pick up their men, leaving their defence exposed and Bunney ghosted through to fire passed Darnbrough.

Lancaster who now looked very disciplined and organised did well in keeping possession and frustrating the away team and in the end ran out easy winners.

Given their first half performance and the last two outings against Bamber Bridge and Witton Albion the result was very disappointing.
