The Reserves threw away two points in this Lancashire League Match at Seel Park. With 3 players making the debuts, Mossley were slow to get going and looked disjointed especially at the back.

Workington dominated the opening 15 minutes without troubling Curtis Hickman in the Mossley goal. However, just as the home side began to get a foot hold in the game, Workington were awarded a penalty, Max Thomas gave the ball away in his own area and Ben McNamara trying to retrieve the situation was penalised for his tackle, which was duly despatched past Hickman.

From the restart Mossley began to dominate proceedings and went close from Davison Banda, Greg Street and Matt Landregan.

The home sides dominance finally told on 30 minutes when Bands picked up a loose ball just inside the Workington half and set off on a great run that saw him skip past his defender on the edge of the area before smashing an unstoppable shot into the roof of the net.

The second half saw Mossley up the pressure even further, Alex Byrne, Landregan and McNamara all went close before Andy McKernon found himself one on one with the away teams keeper only to see his shot sail over the bar.

With 10 minuets remaining McNamara drove a free kick from just outside the area straight at the keeper who fumbled the ball at his far post, Banda was quickest to react and only had to pull the ball back to Byrne, but decided to shoot from an acute angle instead and fired wide.
