Mossley Women gave another scintillating Seel Park performance on Wednesday evening when they demolished Crompton Ladies by 9-0 with Thaila Morley leading the way with a deadly display of finishing as she netted six brilliantly taken goals.
Thaila was’t the only star of a Mossley super show though with a number of players in terrific form. Leah King, Ellie Price and in particular flying winger Ella Barnes who tormented her markers all evening and provided an endless stream of dangerous crosses.
Niamh Fogarty opened the scoring in the 5th minute and there was only ever going to be one winner thereafter.
Crompton had a couple of chances early on but both times Megan Dickin was alert the danger and once again looked every bit an accomplished goalkeeper.
Thaila Morley had a goal chalked out for off-side on 25 minutes but wouldn't’t be denied for long as she scored the next six Mossley goals on 34, 38, 52, 70, 75 and 80 minutes.
Ellie Price provided a delightful finish for the eighth goal and Sunday’s six goal hero Ellie Clarkson rounded off the scoring two minutes from time.
