Mossley Women completed the double over Heyside Angels at Crompton House on Sunday thanks to a goal in each half by Grace Burke.

On another wet and cold afternoon, Mossley looked to continue their excellent recent form against Heyside Angels.

From the opening minute it was clear Mossley would be playing the passing football while Heyside were a lot more direct .

Mossley pushed for the opener and after missing a couple of good chances finally opened the scoring on 30 minuntes and it was well worth the wait. Grace Burke picking the ball up on the half way line and driving towards goal were she hit a an unstoppable drive from 30 yards for another wonder goal from Burke.

Mossley continued to play good football but couldn't add to their goal and went into half time 1-0 up .

The second half continued the same way with the Mossley defence controlling the Heyside forwards and not really giving them many chances at all. Then on 75 minutes Mossley killed the game off with a brilliant passing move with Ellie Price playing a perfect through ball for Grace Burke to run on to and she never looked like missing, finding the bottom corner to give Mossley all 3 points and lift the Lily's to 4th in the Leauge.

Heyside did pull a goal back on 88 mins but Mossley as a team showed excellent maturity to see the game out.

Kiera McNamara made her first start and had a solid game, as did Rachel Parkinson on her debut. Natalie Leaver pick up 'woman of the match' for a dominant display in the midfield.

The win means it's now only one defeat in the last six games and the Lily's are next in action at Seel Park on Sunday 2nd February against Bolton Wanderers. Hope to see you all there!
