Mossley AFC Women went to top of the table Athletico Middleton on Sunday hoping to continue their recent good form. However, it was a bad day at the office as things just didn't come off.

The LIly's had a disasterous start going two down in the opening 15 minutes and that's how the first half ended.

The second half started and Mossley went 3 - 0 down to a pretty soft penalty.

Then the fight back came with first Kenzie Bentley scoring, then Holly Wells making it 3 - 2. But, as Mossley pushed forward they conceded goals on the counter attack.

Middleton's direct play with their quick forwards finished Mossley off, Middleton winning 6 - 2 in the end, which was a bit flattering.

Things got worse when key defender Mia Woods was confimed to have a dislocated shoulder and will face around 6 weeks out.

Manager Dame Blackshaw said. "It was just not our day today. It happens. But we will move on and look to put things right on Wednesday night away to Ashton United.
