Mossley Women travelled to unbeaten top of the leaguers Bury for another tough game last Sunday and came away with a hard earned point, but it was not quite enough to keep the Lily's own title hopes alive .
The game yet again proved there is no difference between the two teams and a 1 - 1 draw was a fair result. But it also shows just how far this Mossley team has come from the big rebuild in the summer.
The game was tight and it was Mossley who opened the scoring from a quite brilliant individual goal from Ella Barnes, who, took the ball from the half way line leaving defenders on the ground before looping the ball into the top corner.
Bury equalised just before the break and that's how it stayed with the help of two world class saves from player of the match Meg Dickin.
Manager Dame Blackshaw said, "We deserved at least a point and I'm absolutely delighted with where we are. It's been a fantastic season and the ladies should be proud of what they've achieved. It gives us the foundations to continue to build."
