Mossley AFC Women came back from 3-1 down to win a thriller 4-3 to take a huge three points against Old Boltonians Ladies at Seel Park on Sunday afternoon.

Mossley started ok but lacked urgency in the first half. Going 1-0 with Boltonians first real chance and things got worse when a thumping free kick put Boltonians 2-0 up.

Mossley continued playing good football but could'nt find the breakthrough and went into half time trailing 2-0.

In the second half Mossley came out with a new formation, played a little but more direct and worked a lot harder to put pressure on Boltonians.

Kiera McNamara smashed in a 30 yard free kick, her first ever Mossley goal, to put Mossley right back in it, but a quick counter attack from Boltonians put them 3-1 up soon after.

Many thought that was that but not a chance. Mossley came storming back. First, the returning Grace Burke curled one in, then Kenzie Bentley brilliantly equalized as Mossley piled on the pressure.

Fitness and quality was making the difference but Kenzie Bentley saved the best for last with an absolute unbelievable dipping strike to give Mossley the deserved lead.

That was not the end as Boltonians were awarded a late penalty which Megan Dickin superbly saved to seal all 3 points.

After the game manager Dame Blackshaw said he was incredibly proud of the performance as every single player put a shift in, it was a huge team performance.
