Mossley’s youth team continued their flying start to the season with a 6-0 hammering of New Mills at Church Lane on Wednesday evening.

It was a scintillating performance by the Lilywhites young guns with three goals in each half against a side who promotion last season.

Mossley’s pass and move football in the first half was a joy to behold, the only surprise was that it took 28 minutes to open the scoring.

It was Jordan Cuff who bagged the first with a good header from an inch perfect Tom Clarke cross from the left.
The second goal on 37 minutes again came from a move down the left, this time it was Joe Heap who provided the delivery for Alex Byrne to fire home from ten yards.

Antony Dorney added the third three minutes before the interval with a rasping 30 yard drive.

Mossley lost a little of their fluency after the break as New Mills made a more solid start to the half but Matt
Chadwick scored number four after a great run and shot in the 61st minute.

A minute later New Mills were awarded a penalty but Nick Howard saved the Millers spot kick diving to his left to smother the ball.

Joe Heap scored the fifth goal in the 84th minute with a superb curling shot from the left and Dorney completed the scoring in the 89th minute with a blistering run and shot.

First team watch out, these boys are hot!
