Mossley's exciting Youth team brushed aside the challenge of Prescot Cables in this 2nd Round tie in North West Youth Alliance Open Cup.

Antony Dorney enjoyed a return to form with an impressive hat-trick, while Joe Heap scored two more to take his season's tally to 23 and substitute Kyle McDonagh scored his first Seel Park goal.

Mossley controlled the game throughout and the only real surprise was that it took half an hour to break the deadlock. Mossley won a free kick just outside the Cables box that Joe Heap scored after his initial shot rebounded back to him off the Prescot defensive wall.

The result was put beyond doubt with two well taken goals by Antony Dorney in the final minutes of the half as Mossley applied constant heavy pressure.

Mossley relaxed in possession well and continued to create chances after the break with Prescot mostly chasing shadows while offering nothing whatsoever as an attacking force.

The inevitable fourtth goal finally arrived in the 84th minute when Antony Dorney finished coolly to complete a well deserved hat-trick.

Kyle McDonagh added a fifth from close range a minute from time and Joe Heap fired home to complete the rout with practically the last kick of the game.
