A new look Mossley Youth team featuring a number of trialists won their opening friendly match with a hrad earned 4-3 win over an AFC Bury side that contained several over age players.

The game was played at a high tempo with both sides looking to get the ball down and play. After chances went begging at both ends, Bury took the lead after half an hour with a well taken finish.

Mossley pressed for an equaliser and it duly arrived shortly after when midfielder Anthony Knowles hit a fine shot into the top corner from 25 yards.

Bury went in at half time a goal to the good when a 20 yard shot found the bottom corner giving the rookie Mossley keeper no chance.

Substitute Matthew Singleton brought Mossley level for a second time when he scored from close range ten minutes after the restart.

AFC Bury took the lead for the third time when their striker raced clear to slot the ball past the advancing keeper.

Mossley pressed forward with more purpose and with little over five minutes remaining found another equaliser when Matthew Singleton was again on hand to frinish off a neat move.

Mossley were the team pressing for a winner in the closing stages and the Lilywhites finally got their reward two minutes from time when striker Hamza Jahangir finished well.
