The Mossley youth team gave possibly it's worst performance since it's formation in the summer of 2010 in going down 3-0 at home to a nothing more than ordinary Curzon Ashton side at Seel Park on Sunday morning.

Mossley manager Rob Byrne gave debuts to the newly signed trio of James Dean, Reece McLoughlin and Ryan Allen, all signed in the wake of Woodley Sports youth team's recent demise, but the trio weren't alone in failing to shine as the Lilywhites youngsters experienced an off day en masse.

The only players to come away with any credit on the day were centre back Alex Chesters making his first appearance since the opening day of the season after recovering from ligament damage and midfield dynamo Jake Hibbs who had another strong game. That aside Mossley were poor all over the park. Weak in attack and susceptible in defence.

Curzon worked extremely hard and showed more desire in gaining the win. The visitors took the lead in the 40th minute when Jack Selkeld headed powerfully home from a right wing corner and added further goals in the second half through Ryan McDonagh and Matthew Dell to deservedly take maximum points and severely dent Mossley's title aspirations.
