Mossley earned their second successive win on Sunday at Wright Robinson Sports College beating a defensively resiliant Prescot Cables by a solitary late goal.

Mossley controlled possession throughout a game played in a difficult windy conditions, but failed to create many scoring chances whilst one first half save by keeper Curtis Hickman was Prescot's only real effort on goal throughout the entire 90 minutes.

A strong Prescot defensive unit were hard to break down for Mossley as despite lots of pressure the visitors defended competently leaving no space for strikers Adam Bezzina and Nat Martin to exploit and employed the use of a nifty off-side trap that frustrated the pacy Bezzina more than once.

As the game came into it's final third the introduction of Prince Amadin and Matt Singleton gave Prescot a new set of problems and both had chances to open the scoring.

The winner finally arrived six minutes from time when Prescot for once failed to clear their lines and a swift side step by midfielder Jordan Rutter saw him curl a great shot into the top corner from just inside the box for a deserved winning goal.
