Mossley took just 23 minutes to put this FA Youth Cup 1st Qualifying Round tie beyond Stalybridge Celtic's grasp after taking the visitors defence apart in the opening stages of what was a thoroughly entertaining game.

Mossley got off to a great start when Bezzina was brought down for a fifth minute penalty that Omar McKenzie coolly dispatched.

Four minutes later the lead was doubled. Omar McKenzie went on a dazzling run from inside his own half beating defender after defender and when Celtic keeper Clark parried his eventual shot, Jordan Rutter was in the right place to fire home the rebound.

Skipper Tom Ingham set up the third on clinching goal on 23 minutes when his cross from the right was headed home by the outstanding 15 years old midfield dynamo Jake Hibbs.

Seven minutes later Adam Bezzina hit his fourth goal of the season to all but seal an emphatic victory.

Little was seen of the visitors as an attacking force in the first half but they became more of a threat after the break and Nick Howard was called into action on a couple of occasions but Mossley were next to score when Adekola handled and McKenzie stroked home his second spot kick of the night.

Mossley squandered several chances to increase the lead still further before Stalybridge substitute Lewis Callaghan scored a late consolation goal for the well beaten visitors as Mossley coasted comfortably through to the next round and an away tie at the winners of Northwich Victoria or Formby.
