Mossley’s new look youth team came from two goals down to win this tricky North West Youth Alliance match against a lively Warrington Town at Seel Park on Sunday.

Mossley enjoyed more possession throughout but Warrington proved to be worthy opponents and lead with two well taken goals scored early in each half.

The opener came in the 8th minute when Warrington centre forward James Anderson squeezed past two Mossley defenders while cutting in from the left and finished well from a narrow angle.

Mossley created several opportunities to equalise but found visitors keeper Dan Gordon in good form.
Seven minutes into the second half and Mossley were two down. The Lilywhites won a corner but the ball was cleared and Ben McWilliams ran through to slot the ball past the stranded Nick Howard.

Mossley introduced Prince Amadin to the fray a minute later and the speedy striker made an immediate impact. Finishing off a flowing Mossley move instigated by the impressive Omar McKenzie to halve the arrears.

Four minutes later Mossley were level when Amadin went on a powerful mazy run, skipping past several tackles before slotting home.

Mossley now had the bit firmly between their collective teeth and took a deserved lead on 75 minutes. Jake Hibbs was brought tumbling down in the box and McKenzie stroked home the resultant penalty.
Mossley wrapped up the points in the last minute when Adam Bezzina finished well to score the goal he had threatened all afternoon.
