Experienced local football administrator Harry Hulmes has been appointed as Mossley's new Matchday Secretary.
Harry (42), who lives on Market Street, right next door to Seel Park has a distinguished career in amateur football behind him.
"I appreciate how much Dave 'Bob' Buckley did for the club and I hope that I can carry on the good work, from where he left off," says Harry, "All in all, I've got a fair grounding at Amateur level and look forward to the step up into the semi-pro game."
Harry founded and ran, as manager/secretary Blazing Rag FC who became one of the best Sunday teams in the Manchester area, with many ex Mossley player appearaing for them over the years including Dave Ashton, Lee Blackshaw, Kenny Abbott, Paul Uttley, Steve Lyons and Wayne Joynes
Harry went on to manage the Hyde & District Inter-League team for three seasons, winning the Gtr Manchester Championship in 2003.
On the more relevant Football Administration side, Harry has served on the Hyde & District Sunday League's committee for almost 10 years. He originally worked as Press & Results Secretary and currently holds the multiple roles of PR & Communications Secretary, Fixtures Secretary (no easy task with 50 clubs) and Vice-Chairman.
He was voted the League's Secretary of the year in 2004 and won Cheshire FA 'Volunteer of the Year' award in 2002. He has also been awarded two separate 'Special Service' awards, for extra duties carried out.
