Gareth McClelland has been appointed as Mossley 1st team Manager on a permanent basis following five unbeaten games since his arrival.

The former Woodley boss who, along with his assistant Eddy Haslam and coach Phil Sherwood, has made a big impression since landing at Seel park in a caretaker basis early this month.

The likable 29 years old Northern Irishman has been an instant hit with players and fans alike and after two draws followed by two wins in his first four games in charge it would have been hard to make any other decision but to give him the job.

The players responded to the news with an fine 2-0 win over play off bound AFC Fylde at Seel Park on Easter Saturday when McClelland and his new charges were given an excellent reception both before and after the game.
