Jason Beckford is a former striker with Manchester City, Birmingham City, Millwall and Northampton Town.

His career was ended prematurely by injury and he arrived at Mossley after coaching Bolton Wanderers Academy side.

He was appointed assistant manager in June 2002 and following Ally Pickering's shock departure in July 2003 he was appointed team manager leading Mossley to promotion to the UniBond for the 2004/05 season.

In season 2005/06 he led Mossley to their first League title in 26 years and promotion to the UniBond League Premier Division.
